Lehigh Valley Active Life offers various activities
Lehigh Valley Active Life, 1633 W. Elm St., Allentown, is offering the following dances 7-10 p.m. in the Trexler Room.
The per person fee includes refreshments.

Dance classes include:
·Aug. 10, 17, 24, 31: Intro to Line Dance led by Linda Peters 1:45 p.m. Learn the basic steps and proper technique with fun, easy dances to all genres of music. No experience needed.
The following creative arts classes are offered:
·Aug. 5, 10, 12, 17, 19, 24, 26, 31: Arts & Crafts Group led by Trisha Baker, 9-11 a.m.
·Aug. 5, 7, 12, 14, 19, 21, 26, 28: Art For Everyone, led by Suzanne Bauder, noon. New and advanced students are welcome. Whatever medium you choose, help is available.
·Aug. 6, 13, 20, 27: Knit and Chat, 9 a.m. Stop in, work on your own projects, knit, crochet or embroider. Chat about your work or any other subjects and enjoy the conversation.
·Aug. 10, 17, 24, 31: Drawing, led by Judy Peters, 9:30 a.m. Learn how to draw with pencils in this introduction to composition, outlining and shading.
·Aug. 11, 18, 25: Ceramics, led by Bonny Batman, 9 a.m. Class fees include paints and drop ins are welcome.
The following exercise classes are scheduled:
·Aug. 7, 14, 21, 28: Tai Chi for Balance, led by Bob Donnelly (Pai Ma Shen), 10:30 a.m. Tai Chi is a holistic exercise that helps reduce stress and promote physical well-being by using slow flowing movement to coordinate breath and enhance strength, balance and calmness.
·Aug. 7, 10, 14, 17: Fit Circuit, led by Sara Mercer 12:30 p.m. This low impact circuit style class, featuring upbeat choreography mixed with strength training, is a great overall cardio workout.
·Aug. 10, 17, 24, 31: Barre, led by Michele Fisher, 10:15 a.m. A low impact toning class blending the principles of Pilates, yoga, strength training and ballet to activate your entire body. Focus on proper body alignment, balance, stability and flexibility and strength by targeting hips, glutes, abs and arms. Standing and floor work and the ballet barre is used for portions of class, but this is not a dance class.
·Aug. 5, 10, 12, 17, 19, 24, 26, 31: Zumba, led by Grace Conti, 9:30 a.m. Dancers and nondancers will enjoy this Latin inspired, dance fitness class, which is designed for seniors.
·Aug. 6, 11, 13, 18, 20, 25, 27: Zumba, led by Ed Nickels, 9 a.m. Dancers and nondancers will enjoy this Latin inspired dance fitness class, which is designed for seniors.
·Aug. 6, 13, 20, 27: Silver Warrior, led by Rob Comins, 9 a.m. This class is structured to help improve balance, cognitive functions, coordination, endurance, strength and relieve stress.
·Aug. 11, 18, 25: Tai Chi Qigong, led by Alice Perry, 2:10 p.m. Very beginner, friendly, meditative and peaceful class environment. Participants move through two sets of 18 movements each.

·Aug. 6, 13, 20, 27: YiJinJing, led by Alice Perry, 2:10 p.m. Participants may improve range of motion and mental suppleness with these flowing sets of moves known as YiJinJing, which translates to “the muscles, tendon, ligament and bone changing method.” Classes are beginner-friendly because the movements are simple, flowing and easy to follow; each will include a mix of standing, walking, seated and reclining sequences.
The following interest groups will be held:
·Aug. 6, 13, 20, 27: Current Events Informal Discussion Group, moderated by David M. Bell, 2 p.m. The group offers a place to express your opinions and listen to others. Includes world, national, state and local topics. All are welcome.
·Aug. 7, 14, 21, 28: Life Sharing Discussion Group, 1 p.m. This is an informal group that meets to discuss our lives in general in an atmosphere of mutual respect.
·Aug. 6, 13, 20, 27: Photography Composition Basics, led by Ray Royers, 12:30 p.m. This group is for anyone who wants to improve their photography skills using a cellphone or any camera.
·Aug. 6, 13, 20, 27: Poetry Appreciation 2 p.m. This group is for anyone who enjoys and appreciates poetry.
