Bath: Peach festival set for Aug. 8 at Salem United Church of Christ

Salem United Church of Christ, 2218 Community Drive, will be hosting a peach festival, set for 3-8 p.m. Aug. 8.

There will be food, games, bingo, cake walk and a raffle. Music will be provided by the Main Street Cruisers.

Meet in the grove, and don’t forget to bring a lawn chair.

The Bath Free Market will be open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 8 at Ciff Cowling Field, 301 Allen St.

Bath Area Food Bank will be distributing food Aug. 11, starting around 9:30 a.m., on the lower-level of St. John’s Lutheran Church, 206 E. Main St. Do not arrive before 9:30 a.m. due to safety reasons.

The Bath Museum, 121 S. Walnut St., will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 15. Tours are welcome.

Governor Wolf Historical Society, 6600 Jacksonville Road, will be open 1-3 p.m. Aug. 15 for tours of the historic buildings, grounds and new museum.

Emmanuel’s Lutheran Church, 3175 Valley View Drive, will hold an outdoor worship service 9:30 a.m. Aug. 16 at the pavilion. There will also be a blessing of the backpacks.

Grab a chair, blanket and your backpack, briefcase, tote bag, lunchbox, etc., and join the worship outside.

During the month of July, Emmanuel’s Lutheran Church will help Bath Area Food Bank by collecting crackers and paper products. There is a special need for 1-pound boxes of elbow macaroni, 16-ounce peanut butter and 28-ounce canned tomatoes or sauce.

Donations for the food bank can be dropped off in the bins in the fellowship hall or the upstairs gathering area.

Bath Area Food Bank is always in need of monetary donations and gift cards, which stretch farther than any amount of food given.

Bath Lions Club meets 6:30 p.m. Aug. 19 at My Place Pizza, 270 E. Northampton St. Guests and new members are always welcome. Email lionsbathpa@gmail.com.

The club meets the first and third Wednesday of each month.
