Virginia Kozak
Virginia “Ginny” Kozak, 96, of Salisbury Township, died peacefully July 24, 2026, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, surrounded by family.
Born in East Vandergrift, she was the daughter of the late John and Helen (Kaminski) Barch. She was married for 71 years to her husband, Joseph, who predeceased her.
She dedicated 65 years of her life to nursing, with a special focus on geriatric care. As a registered nurse she worked at Cedarbrook Nursing Home in Allentown, went on to assist in the opening of Lehigh Center Nursing Home in Macungie and later worked at Country Meadows of Allentown.
Her dedication to her patients earned her the Excellence In Caregiving Award by the Pennsylvania Healthcare Association.
She will be remembered for her strength and her decades of caring service to her family.
She is survived by her children, Linda Stefchak, of Allentown, Gary (Lisa), of Easton, Mark (Maureen), of Park City, Utah, Michele, of Allentown; grandchildren, Christine, Cara, Madison and Zachary; great-grandson, Joseph; nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Joseph; daughter-in-law, Gayle Matson Kozak; sisters, Helen Steri, Martha Rushe; brothers, John, Albin, Edward and Marshall Barch.
Services are private.
