Dr. Robert M. Stanton, 92, of Allentown, died July 13, 2026, at his residence.

He was the husband of Rita M. (Goecke) Stanton to whom he was married 68 years.

Born in Woodside, Long Island, N.Y., Nov. 7, 1933, he was the son of the late James C. and Catherine M. (O’Rourke) Stanton.

A graduate of Washington State University with a doctorate in chemical physics, he was employed at A.T. & T. / Bell Labs in Allentown for 26 years before retiring in 1993.

He was past secretary of the Lehigh Valley Chamber Orchestra, a member of the American Wine Society and Roxbury Fire Department in Roxbury, N.Y.

In addition to his loving wife, Rita, he is survived by his children, Natasha, Moyna (Robert S. Wagner), Christopher R.M. (Grace) Esq., Guy R.M. (Nina) Stanton; grandchildren, Sofea, Aedhan, Olivia, and Gareth.

He was predeceased by a brother, James Stanton.

His service will be private and at the convenience of the family. No calling hours.
