Mary S. Miller
Mary S. Miller, 96, of Emmaus, died July 22, 2026, at the LVHN Hospice Inpatient Unit. She was married for 61 years to Wesley Miller, who died in 2011. Born in Harlem, Berks County, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Elsie (Gregory) Bower.
She was a 1949 graduate of Emmaus High School.
She started her working career at 15 years old, working as a nanny for boxer Billy Soose. Her other jobs included work at McCrory’s, Movie Star Manufacturing Co., Saucon Hosiery Mill, Hutton Wasserman. She was a parts runner and bookkeeper for her father’s automotive repair shop, Bower’s Garage, on Buckeye Road in Emmaus. She also did bookkeeping for Blackman’s Cycle. Later in life, she worked for Weaver’s Gems, Bath & Body Works, Time for You and Just Nuts and Candy.
She was a lifelong member of Grace Lutheran Church in Macungie, where she taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible School in her younger years.
She also enjoyed bowling for more than 30 years, which included going to regionals and state finals.
She is survived by her children, Deborah Senavaitis (widow of William), of Bernville, David (Kim) and Kathleen, both of Emmaus; grandsons, William Senavaitis, of Sellersville, Nicholas (Alicia), of Colorado, Timothy Senavaitis (Kristin), of New York and Nathaniel (companion Cathryn), of Maine; great-grandchildren, Everett and Vivian, of Colorado.
Memorial services will be held 11:30 a.m. July 29 at Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 225 Elm St., Emmaus. A calling hour will be held 10:30-11:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
