Carol Ann Mertz, 85, of Kutztown, died peacefully July 16, 2026, at Lehigh Valley Hospital. Born in Lynn Township, she was the daughter of the late George and Helen (Whitman) Zimmerman.

She was a teacher for 30 years and retired from Brandywine High School.

She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Kutztown.

She was also active in the Kutztown Lioness Club and was the Past Worthy Matron of Eastern Star 336.

She is survived by her son, Scott R. and wife, Leslie, of Kutztown; step-grandchildren, Michelle Fegely and Jeffrey Wagner; step-great-grandchildren, Owen, Olivia, Haven and Norah.
