Valley Youth House ushered in a new era of outdoor learning and community at Camp Fowler, hosting a celebratory ribbon cutting ceremony recently to debut its brand-new, state-of-the-art outdoor pavilions.

The new pavilions represent a major upgrade for the camp, providing versatile outdoor spaces designed to shield youth from the elements while fostering connection, teamwork, and adventure.

The grand opening was made possible through the generosity of several local businesses and community partners.

Valley Youth House extends its deepest gratitude to Kay Builders, 84 Lumber, Jimbo’s Exteriors/Jimbo’s Gutters, Joshua G. Masters Carpentry Contracting, Mar’s Excavating, Pollart Sales & Services, WilliamSIGNS, and the Salvaggio Family for their donations, materials, and labor to bring this project, valued at over $82,000, to life.

Leading up to the ribbon cutting, board members and guests were treated to guided tours of the Camp Fowler grounds, led by Camp Director Mike Brady.

The tours highlighted the camp’s outdoor recreation programs and demonstrated how the new pavilions will enhance the daily camp experience.

The evening concluded with a special community dinner, where guests and staff sat down to share a meal alongside the campers themselves.

“The buildings we’ve provided here at the camp aren’t just buildings. They help fulfill the mission,” said Shannon Cawley, vice president, design and drafting at Kay Builders. “Our time, talent, and treasure help the vision become reality. By being involved with the buildings here at Camp Fowler, we also own the mission and the vision. That’s why we’re here today.”

For over two decades, Camp Fowler has served as an adventure camp for youth to build leadership and life skills, through experiential learning and fun activities.

The addition of these new outdoor pavilions ensures that Camp Fowler can continue to expand its high-impact programming for years to come.
