Joan B. McDonald
Joan (Breslin) ”Judy” McDonald, 91, of Schnecksville, formerly of Allentown, died July 9, 2026, at her residence.
She was the wife of the late James M. McDonald, CSM retired.
Born in East Stroudsburg, Sept. 20, 1934, she was the daughter of the late John F. and Hilda A. (Smith) Breslin.
She was a dedicated educator with the Diocese of Allentown for 40 years before retiring in 1999.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church in Whitehall.
Her survivors include children Judith M. McDonald (Richard Palmer) of Emmaus, John J. McDonald (Lisa J.) of Schnecksville, Joan M. Copeland (Hunter B.) of Schuylkill Haven, Lucy A. Martelliti (Joseph A.) of Macungie, and James J. McDonald (Cheryl L.) of New Ringgold; a sister, Karen B. Fisher of Upper Saddle River, N.J.; eight grandchildren and two great-grandsons.
She was predeceased by sisters Rosemary B. DiGrazia and Margot B. Hastings.
She was also predeceased by her beloved Rottweiler Annie, and her little tuxedo cat, Honey.
A devout Catholic and true prayer warrior, she took great pleasure praying for everyone.
Everyone received her special Vaya Con Dios blessing before they left her company.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held July 18, 2026, at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, 4456 Main St., Whitehall.
The Rev. Msgr. Daniel J. Yenushosky was the celebrant.
Interment followed the Mass at Holy Family Roman Catholic Cemetery, New Philadelphia.
