Doris J. Harper, 95, of Salisbury Township, died peacefully July 18, 2026, at EverTrue Luther Crest, Allentown. She was married to the late James A. Harper for 58 years. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Henry A. and Edna I. (Bogert) Bachman Sr.

She worked at Allison Manufacturing. She also provided child care at The Church of the Nazarene Day Care.

She is best known for her blue-ribbon winning baked goods and dishes at The Great Allentown Fair.

She was a member of the former Zion’s Reformed United Church of Christ.

She is survived by her children, James R. (Barbara), Gail Welty (James Rest), Thomas (Caroline); sister, Phyllis Bachman; grandchildren, James M., Lori, Peter, Zachary and Mackenzie; and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be held 10:30 a.m. July 27 at Bachman, Kulik and Reinsmith Funeral Home, 1629 Hamilton St., Allentown. Calling hours will be held 2 to 4 p.m. July 26 and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. July 27 in the funeral home.
