Would you like to help our homeless veterans? You can weave mats for homeless veterans 10 a.m.-4 p.m. every second and fourth Wednesday at Mountain View Wesleyan Church, 1001 Deemer Road. Prepping for weaving is noon-3 p.m. every first and third Wednesday.

Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 210 E. Northampton St., has announced that fall enrollment for religious education is currently open for children in first to eighth grade. Religious education for the 2026-27 school year will start Sept. 14.

Catechesis for grades 1-8 is offered at Sacred Heart.

The deadline for registration is Aug. 17. After Aug. 17, there is a late fee per registrant.

Confirmation at Sacred Heart will be conferred by Bishop Alfred Schlert Nov. 5.
