What is Project Atlas?
The proposal includes three data center buildings of about 500,000 square feet each, two accessory buildings, an electrical substation, a new roadway, stormwater facilities, utility infrastructure and restoration of a historic barn.
Why can’t it be approved yet?
Township engineers said the preliminary plan contains unresolved issues involving site design, roadway geometry, stormwater management and ordinance compliance.
What are residents concerned about?
Public comments focused on generator noise, diesel emissions, traffic congestion, property values, environmental impacts, electrical infrastructure and the project’s proximity to Parkland High School.
What happens next?
The application remains in the preliminary-review stage. Township consultants and engineers will continue reviewing submissions before the Planning Commission considers any recommendation.
