Pop Up and Play in North Catasauqua

Pop Up and Play summer camp director Chris Marks leads campers in an expanding circle activity July 8 at North Catasauqua William J. Albert Memorial Park, 701 Grove St. This year’s curriculum focuses on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics).
Winning the tallest tower competition is the team of, from left, Jianna Bailey, Annabelle Keller, Ian Hillenbrand and Blaze Boschen. The winning entry, named Ludcasa Gum Drop, came in at 9.9 inches.
Campers work intently in groups in the competition to construct the tallest tower. Campers were given a supply of building materials, which included marshmallows, gum drops and toothpicks.
Campers take the time to greet a special visitor for the day — Hudson Schuster, a 5-year-old golden retriever.
Having fun with a hula hoop is camper Addison Ott, of North Catasauqua.
Ryan Nattress, of North Catasauqua, runs a relay race that included activities with a hula hoop.
Campers form a circle as they’re about to start the day of activities.
It’s lunch time! Campers receive a bagged lunch and snacks, compliments of Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church, of Catasauqua.
Camp participants play the game Four Square, with Kennedy Schuster, of North Catasauqua, handling the ball.
