Eileen Ellen Pruitt, 79, died June 26, 2026, surrounded by her family. Born in Zionsville, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Loretta Heist. She was the wife of James S. They were married 57 years.

She was a graduate of The Allentown Hospital School of Nursing.

She was an active member of her church and enjoyed participating in the children’s ministry program, ceramics and traveling with her family.

She is survived by her husband; children, Kimberly, James L. (Sandy) and Stephen (Elisabeth); grandchildren, Thomas, Lydia, Lily and Jillian; brother, Duane Heist; sister, Carol Beltz.

Visitations will be held at Zionsville Bible Fellowship Church, 6401 Vera Cruz Road S., Zionsville, 6 to 7:30 p.m. July 24 and 10 to 11 a.m. July 25. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. July 25 at the church.

Memorial donations may be made to Zionsville Bible Fellowship Church or The American Diabetes Association.
