Trojan athletes compete at New Balance Nationals

Several Parkland High School track and field athletes competed in the New Balance Nationals Outdoor Championships last week at Franklin Field in Philadelphia.

Sprinter Radnor Rowlands ran a school record time of 21.14 in the 200-meter championship, earning a place in finals and finishing eight overall. He also ran in the 100 and posted a time of 10.78 seconds.

The Parkland girls 1600-meter relay team of Marley Boyle, Maddie Anthony, Laura Shellhamer and Dhaniya Miner also qualified for the meet and posted a time of 4:22.44.

Two incoming Trojan freshman also made the trip to Philly.

Jayden Tucker ran the 400-meter hurdles in 58.24, while classmate Nate Cuda competed in triple jump and leaped 40 feet, 7 inches.
