Lehigh County 911 dispatched crews from Lower Macungie and Upper Macungie fire companies and Macungie Ambulance Corps to a reported house fire in the 1200 block of Stein Way at approximately 12:30 a.m. July 4.
911 reported a house on fire with flames from the roof.
Lower Macungie Fire Department Chief Ryan Trexler was on scene minutes after the dispatch and confirmed a working fire and requested a second alarm for additional resources.
Fire was already seen through the roof when units arrived.

Firefighters advance hose lines into the front of the home and begin an interior attack.
Macungie ambulance crews stand by after a “Mayday” call was sounded for a firefighter trapped on the second floor of the home. Crews were able extricate the trapped firefighter from the building and the Mayday was cleared.
