’Canes A near top

Both Liberty teams came away with positive results in the Lehigh Valley Summer Soccer League last week.

Hurricanes A battled FC Gore to a 2-2 draw, extending their unbeaten streak to seven matches. After opening the season with a loss, Hurricanes A has responded with six wins and a draw to remain among the top teams in the division.

Hurricanes B earned its first victory of the season with a 3-1 win over the Roughies. The breakthrough result came after the squad had picked up its first point with a draw in its previous outing, giving Hurricanes B four points over its last two matches.

Elsewhere, New Tripoli Bank edged FC Tribe 1-0, All Star 16’s defeated the Hornets 8-1, Phillipsburg topped Palisades 8-5, and the Vikings and Green Knights played to a scoreless draw.
