Egypt/Cementon: 250th event set for July 4
Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7293, 5209 Springmill Road, begins its celebration of the 250th birthday of our country with a ceremony led by the honor guard at noon July 4, followed by entertainment by the Greyman Group 7 p.m.

Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, 4102 S. Church St., Egypt, will be accepting preorders for halupki dinners after Mass July 4 and 5. The dinners, which include halupki, mashed potatoes, beans and a roll, will be available for pickup in the church hall kitchen 5-6:30 p.m. July 11.
There is a cost.

The VFW is hosting concerts by Wicked Beaver July 10, CPR featuring Sara Ayers July 25 and Rustix Classic Rock July 31. Concerts will begin 7 p.m.
The Boondock Barons will be performing 2 p.m. July 12 during the VFW’s outdoor picnic.

The summer concert series continues at Whitehall Parkway, 4689 S. Church St. The lineup includes the Aardvarks July 11 and Main Street Cruisers July 18. Attendance at the 6-9 p.m. concerts is free of charge.
Food and beverages will be available for purchase.
Bring your lawn chair or blanket.

The annual outdoor Mass and picnic at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church is set for July 12 at Egypt Memorial Park, Hillcrest Lane and Curt Simmons Drive. Mass begins 11 a.m., followed by the picnic until 6 p.m.
In addition to food, beverages, baked goods, games and a jewelry sale, the event will feature music by the Joe Kroboth Polka Band noon-3 p.m. and Large Flowerheads 3:30-6 p.m. Discount tickets are available after Mass July 4 and 5.

The VFW will sponsor an American Red Cross blood drive 1:30-6 p.m. July 14.

Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 4331 Main St., Egypt, will hold a free community meal 4-6 p.m. July 21.

Shepherd of the Hills’ annual service and picnic at the Egypt park will be 10:15 a.m. July 27. Bring a dish to share, a beverage, plates, utensils and chairs. The church will provide hot dogs and coffee.
