Upper Macungie Twp to show movie ‘Lilo & Stitch’ July 10

Upper Macungie Township’s Grub and Groove Food Truck Festival will take place every Thursday from 5-8 p.m. through Sept. 24 at Grange Park, 360 Grange Rd.

Come and enjoy various food trucks and musical offerings! Food trucks will meet by Pavilion No. 1 at Grange Park.

The township will be showing the movie Lilo & Stitch (PG) July 10 at Breinigsville Park, 8935 Breinigsville Rd., Breinigsville.

Activities start around 5:30 p.m., and movies start as soon as the sun goes down.

The township’s Summer Session II Tennis Lessons for youth ages 16 and older will take place Mondays 6:30-7:30 p.m. July 6 through Aug. 3 at Brookside Country Club, 901 Willow La., Macungie.

Participants must bring their own racquet. No experience is necessary.

Donna Barats will be offering a four-week Zumba Summer Session on Mondays 6-7 p.m. July 13 through Aug. 10 at the Community Center, 360 Grange Rd.

This Zumba session features easy-to-follow moves set to upbeat music, designed to boost energy, confidence, and mood. Perfect for all fitness levels.

The township in partnership Lehigh Valley Martial Arts will be offering a free Intro to Karate Workshop for kids ages 5 and older noon to 1 p.m. July 18 at LVMA, 7150 Hamilton Blvd., Trexlertown.

No prior experience necessary.

Wildlands Conservancy will be hosting Frosty Paws and Pops 5:30 p.m. July 17 at the Lone Lane Pavilion, 30 Lone La.

Join them for a cool summer adventure featuring an engaging live animal show led by trained Wildlands Conservancy handlers.

After the show, chill out under the shaded Lone Lane Pavilion for some free frozen treats. This event is perfect for kids, families, and nature lovers of all ages.

Is your teen dreaming of becoming a firefighter, police officer, or paramedic? The township’s Junior Services Academy will be held 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 13-17 at Station No. 56, 6510 Schantz Road.

This immersive camp is designed for teenagers who are seriously considering a career in emergency services.

This isn’t your average summer camp — it’s a hands-on, adrenaline-filled experience that gives teens a true glimpse into life on the front lines.

Participants will learn how to spray a fire hose, practice handcuffing techniques, participate in live demos, learn CPR and first aid from real first responders as well as train alongside the heroes they look up to.

Morgenland Church, 3120 Weidasville Rd., Orefield, will host its annual summer picnic 4-8 p.m. June 27.

There will be live music 5-8 p.m. by “Waitin’ on Sundown,” a basket raffle, a 50/50 drawing, cake walk and bake sale.

Rain date is 2 to 6 p.m. June 28 with the band “Waitin’ on Sundown” playing from 3-6 p.m.

The church is accepting orders until July 5 for their hoagie sale.

Options available are regular Italian with everything or no peppers, no onions with peppers, no onions or peppers, ham and cheese; no onions or peppers, turkey; no onions or peppers, roast beef; no onions or peppers, tuna and veggie.

Ingredients are being supplied by Thomson’s Meat Market, Walnutport.

Hoagie pickup will take place 4-6 p.m. July 14.

Ziegels Church Tractor and Car show, a free community event, will take place noon to 6 p.m. July 11.

Entertainment will be by The Hannah Violet Trio and The Majestics.

There will be food, games, raffles, bake sale, tractor pulls and fun for all ages.

The church will be offering an eight-session beginner machine quilting class 5:30-7:30 p.m. starting July 7.

This class will teach you everything you need to know about making a small quilt and also machine quilting. Must be comfortable with your machine.
