The 109th anniversary of Coplay Saengerbund, 205 S. Fifth St., will be celebrated at its Stiftungsfest June 28. The event begins 2 p.m. with singing by the club and guest choruses in the social hall.

Outside in the grove, there will be music provided by Emil Schanta Band. There will be music, dance, food and drinks.

Enjoy the traditions and customs of Austrian and German heritage. Wear your German outfit — dirndl, lederhosen, vests, hats, etc.

The event, sponsored by the club’s heritage committee, is open to the public.

Reminder: Coplay Saengerbund has scheduled its Friday night concerts. The lineup includes South Penn Dixie June 26, American Street Band July 3, Bad Influence July 10, Triple Dog Dare July 17, the Castaway Band July 24 and Ricky and the Rebels July 31.

The gate opens 5 p.m., the kitchen will open 5:30 p.m., and the band plays until 10 p.m.

The Wednesday night summer concert series at Second and Chestnut streets features James Supra July 1, Deal Duo July 15 and Mike Scherer and Sue Rabenold July 29. Concerts are held 6-9 p.m.

The August and September lineup will include the Castaway Band Aug. 12, Tim Harakal Aug. 26, James Supra Sept. 9 and Roy Ramos Sept. 23.

The municipal pool opened June 14. The pool is open noon-7 p.m. seven days a week.

Coplay Food Bank, located in the borough municipal building, is open 8:30-10 a.m. the second Tuesday of every month. If unable to attend the Tuesday morning time frame, call Jodi at 610-262-0928 to make other arrangements.

The food bank needs coffee, spaghetti sauce and noodles, canned pasta, rice pouches and non-sweetened dry cereals. Monetary donations are always accepted.

The Coplay aerobics classes are held 9:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8:45 a.m. Saturdays and 7 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays in the borough hall auditorium. There is a cost by donation.

Bring light dumbbells, a towel and a mat to enhance your workout.
