Parkland girls lax is ‘hungry for more’
The Parkland High School girls lacrosse team accomplished more in 2026 than it has in the last couple of seasons.
The Trojans finished eight games above .500 overall at 14-6 and went 4-4 in the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference. They also won a game at the District 11 3A tournament for the first time since 2023.
“We had a great, very successful season this year,” said Trojan head coach Brittaney Costigan. “We accomplished a lot of goals and made others around the Lehigh Valley take notice of us. Getting back to the second round of districts showed us all what we can do.”
With the success of the 2026 season, Costigan had a number of different success stories and positive moments to chose from.
“It’s hard to pick just one highlight from the season,” Costigan said. “I think our game against Southern Lehigh was a big one. It showed us all OK we can do this. Also, all of the little moments, team bonding, and just spending time together were great.”
The Trojans will graduate seven seniors from the team this season, including Abby Marquardt, Makenzie Spangler, Emma Roseman, Brynn Snyder, Juliana Varano, Addison Winfield and Milla Hahn.
“This senior class has been huge contributors to the success we were able to accomplish this year,” said Costigan. “They laid the foundation and then helped to push their teammates to levels we have not been at for a while.”
Sophomore Olivia Esteban led the attack with 42 goals and had four assists, to go along with 12 caused turnovers and 41 ground balls. Classmate Jade Caravello finished with 34 goals and 10 assists, along with 19 ground balls and eight caused turnovers.
Fellow sophomore Sydney Sensinger tallied 29 goals and 12 assists and collected 18 ground balls.
Sophomore Sam Schippell recorded 26 goals and eight assists and was second on the team with 35 ground balls. Winfield totaled 25 goals and 19 assists and brought in 29 ground balls and won 20 draw controls.
Junior Lila Temchatin contributed 21 goals and 11 assists with 19 ground balls. Junior goalie Audrina Stewart finished with 111 saves in net.
As the stats show, there are a ton of talented players returning next season.
“We are returning a lot of our girls next year,” Costigan said. “With some of the success we saw last year, it gives us some footing to jump off of. We had a great season but still didn’t accomplish everything we wanted.
“We want another championship. I think this year laid the groundwork for us to do it again next year. We are all hungry for it.”
