Carol Reid Chorney

Emmaus High School graduate

Carol Reid Chorney, 72, of Laurys Station, died June 4 peacefully with her husband by her side.

Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late George Lee and Etha Reid, of Emmaus. She was the wife of Stephen Chorney to whom she was married for 35 years.

She was a 1971 graduate of Emmaus High School.

She retired from Air Products and Chemicals after 33 years of employment, her last assignment as a purchasing coordinator.

She volunteered with Special Olympics of Lehigh County, helping with events planning.

She enjoyed the outdoors and spending vacations in the Adirondack Mountains in upstate New York with their boat and spending time with family and friends.

In addition to her husband she is survived by her son, Matthew Reid and his wife, Megan; sister, Linda Reid, of Venice Fla.,; brother, Robert Reid, of Emmaus. She was predeceased by her sister, Marion Reid Schaffer; brother, George Malcolm Reid.

A celebration of life will be held 9 a.m. June 10 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 4102 S. Church St., Whitehall. A visitation will also be held 9-10 a.m. followed by a Mass at the church.
