New Southside signage for Ambassadors

The City of Bethlehem and the Bethlehem Economic Development Corporation, in partnership with the Bethlehem Parking Authority, will install new signage throughout Bethlehem’s Southside to highlight the Southside Ambassadors Program and recognize the partners supporting its work. Since launching in 2014, the program has provided cleaning, beautification, hospitality, snow removal, graffiti removal, and visitor assistance services across the South Side. Managed by BEDCO in partnership with Block by Block, the program is led by Operations Manager Sandy Zajacek. Mayor J. William Reynolds called the Ambassadors “a vital part of our community,” noting their role in making the area more welcoming and accessible. In 2025, the team cleared more than 94,000 pounds of trash, mulched 169 tree wells, collected nearly 1,608 bags of leaves, and greeted more than 54,500 people. Lead sponsors include Lehigh University and the Bethlehem Parking Authority, with additional support from Northampton County, The Stone House Group, BRIA, and Community Action Development Bethlehem.
