Bruce W. DeLong Sr., 85, of Allentown, died May 26, 2026, at Advanced Health Care of Allentown. He was the husband of Florence A. “Dolly” (Marquardt) DeLong to whom he was married 61 years. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Robert and Violet (Diehl) DeLong.

He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during a peacetime era. He was employed as a manager at the former Blazer Financial in Allentown for 38 years before retiring. Active in the life of his church, he was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Allentown, where he served in many leadership roles including president of Consistory.

Before his stroke in 2015, he enjoyed spending time on the golf course in the summer and the bowling alley the rest of the year.

He was a former member of the Kiwanis Club.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Douglas M. (Annette), of Hereford; daughter, Rev. Janet L. Newett (Anthony), of Allentown; brother, Ronald (Ruth), of Arizona; grandchildren, Aaron (April), Matthew (Colleen), Kaitlyn (Stephen), Tyler (Erin), Zachary, Aria Alexander (Kalvin), Paul Quinn Jr., Grace Quinn; nine great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a son, Bruce W. Jr.; brother, Terry.
