STPD to offer free youth summer program for fifth and sixth graders

Congratulations to the Salisbury High School Class of 2026! May you always remember your high school years as you move on to the next chapter of your life. No matter what that chapter looks like, remember the foundation that helped to shape you and the community that supported you. Go Falcons!
Students will have school June 11 and the official last day of the 2026 school year will be June 12. On June 11, SHS and Salisbury Middle School will dismiss 12:15 p.m. and Salisbury Elementary School will dismiss 1:15 p.m. On June 12, SHS and SMS will dismiss 10:30 a.m. and SES will dismiss 11:15 a.m. It’s getting close!
Looking for things to do this summer? The Salisbury Township 2026 Summer Playground Program kicks off June 17 and runs through July 24. It runs 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday and 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesday evenings. Programs will be held at Laubach and Lindberg parks. This program is open to all Salisbury Township students from first through 12th grades. Registration must be completed online at salisburytownship.recdesk.com/Community/Program.
Attention parents of STSD fifth and sixth graders!
The Salisbury Township Police Department will offer a free police youth summer camp program. This program will run July 6-10 for students currently in fifth grade and July 13-27 for students currently in sixth grade. The camps are to be posted on the STPD Facebook page and spots are limited. Activities will include K-9 demos, SWAT demos, crime scene processing, police drone demos, police dirt bike units, traffic stop demos, fire trucks, team building activities, sports and outdoor activities, free lunch and so many more experiences.
ArtsQuest is again hosting the Free Family Movie Series this summer at the Levitt Pavilion. The first movie showing 6:30 p.m. June 3 will be “Inside Out.” “The Aristocats” is scheduled 6:30 p.m. June 10. These movies are weather pending and may be relocated or canceled depending on the weather. If planning to go, you should refer to their social media pages on Facebook and Instagram for the most up-to-date information.
The D & L National Heritage Corridor has kicked off the 2026 Get Your Tail on the Trail 165 mile challenge. This free challenge invites you to explore the trail, whether it’s walking, running, biking, or paddling and to get active while setting personal goals and challenges while learning about the region’s history and landscapes. Salisbury Township Recycling Centers are again open for yard waste and branches. Franko Farm will be open June 4 and 6 and Devonshire will be open June 8, 11 and 13. Hours continue to be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday and Thursday and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
