Eyer Middle School jazz and concert bands perform April 29

Members of the Eyer Middle School jazz and concert bands performed a spring concert April 29 in the school auditorium.

Band Director Carrie England conducted both bands with a short intermission between the two sets.

The Jazz Band performed four selections including “Chase the Clouds Away” with an arrangement by M. Lewis. All four selections featured soloist Eli Mory on trumpet.

The 13 student musicians played instruments that included saxophones, trumpets, trombones, tuba, drums, piano and guitar.

The concert band includes 48 student musicians who played flutes, clarinets, saxophones, baritones, tuba, mallet percussion, trumpets, trombones and percussion for the concert. The concert band performed six selections including Robert Smith’s “Yellow” featuring soloists Alexandra Lonyhore on woodblock, Briel Skobel on clarinet, Emersyn Lausch on alto saxophone, Bayleigh Laubach on flute, Genevieve Forster on clarinet and Eli Mory on trumpet.

Trombone players Chase Forster, Noah Bunner, and Liam Shirk were recognized for receiving the “Best Trombone Section” award at the recent Emmaus High School Jazz Festival.

Matt Krempasky served as the light and sound technician for the concert.
