Claire Kurtz, 77, of Emmaus, formerly of Center Valley, died at home, surrounded by her family May 23, 2026. She was the wife of the late William R. Kurtz. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Gloria (Knoehr) Gallagher.

She earned her master’s degree from Liberty University and received her bachelor’s degree from DeSales University.

She was a behavioral therapist for Lehigh Carbon Intermediate Unit for 15 years until retiring in 2014.

She is survived by a son, Brandon R. and his wife, Lark; daughter, Kristin L.; brother, Steve Gallagher and his wife, Sue; sister, Jennifer Gallagher and her husband, Paul Houghton; grandchildren, Liam, Lachlan, Jonah and Makaya. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Ray, Matthew and Christopher.
