LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

Biannual craft event raises funds for church projects

The Good Shepherd Church in Alburtis hosted its biannual craft event recently. The beautiful spring weather helped in the success of the event.

Joanne Nosal organized the event that is held in May and October to raise money for church projects. On May 2, visitors could enjoy a wealth of delicious aromas from the kitchen that included homemade turkey barbecue, macaroni and cheese and hot dogs. The kitchen volunteers included Charlie Knerr, Bennie Warmkessel and her daughter, Stacie Stoudt, and Bud Godshalk.

Visitors enjoyed the homemade crafts from numerous crafters like seamstress Kathy Lynds, who handcrafts items specifically for these events. Volunteers Roger Werley and Gary DeRa assisted with selling the basket raffle tickets. A variety of perennials were available for purchase and Nosal knew how to help those with questions about what plants they had.

The weather made for a pleasant morning of shopping.
