Fisher to head district’s HR office
The Bethlehem Area School District has named Georgiann M. Fisher as its new chief human resources officer.
Fisher brings experience in public education and organizational human resources management, including work in policy development, collective bargaining, employee relations, recruitment and retention, and regulatory compliance. In her new role, she will oversee all operations within the district’s Human Resources Department, including staffing, personnel operations and employee engagement initiatives.
Before joining BASD, Fisher served as director of human resources for the Upper Perkiomen School District, where she was a member of the district’s cabinet team. She managed contract negotiations, benefits administration, recruitment strategies and compliance initiatives for about 500 employees and 200 contractors. She also served as Title IX coordinator and was involved in policy implementation and workplace investigations.
Fisher previously held senior human resources leadership positions with Peaceful Living, Living Branches and Catholic Social Services. In those roles, she oversaw large-scale HR operations, organizational restructuring efforts, compliance programs and employee training initiatives.
Fisher holds a Human Resources Management Certificate from Villanova University and maintains several professional certifications, including Senior Professional in Human Resources certification and Title IX coordinator and investigator credentials.
“I am excited to join the Bethlehem Area School District and to support the incredible educators and staff who serve our students every day,” Fisher said in a statement. “I am committed to fostering a culture of trust, transparency, and excellence in human resources practices that strengthen our schools and empower our workforce.”
Superintendent Dr. Jack P. Silva said Fisher’s experience in personnel management, compliance and organizational leadership would strengthen the district’s efforts to recruit and retain employees.
Board President Mike Faccinetto said Fisher’s leadership and commitment to effective personnel practices would benefit the district and its employees.
