Upper Macungie Twp offering events for kids, adults and dogs

Upper Macungie Township’s Concerts in the Park – Spring Fest will be held 6-9 p.m. May 30 at Grange Park.
The Concerts in the Park series will run through October, taking place on the last Saturday of each month unless otherwise noted.
Each event will showcase at least two live performances featuring a variety of musical styles and local talent.
Admission is completely free, so bring your friends, lawn chairs and your love of great music.
The township, in partnership with the Western Lehigh Chamber, will be holding Paws at the Park noon to 3 p.m. May 31 at Grange Park, 360 Grange Road.
This event, in its sixth year, will be combining the township’s long-standing Barktoberfest with Paws at the Park to bring an even larger pet-themed event to the community. The event will benefit the Animal Food Bank of the Lehigh Valley.
The township’s Grub and Groove Food Truck Festival will take place 5-8 p.m. every Thursday through Sept. 24 at Grange Park. Come and enjoy various food trucks and musical offerings.
Food trucks will meet by Pavilion No. 1 at Grange Park.
The township will show the movie “Keepin’ It Classic with Monsters, Inc. (2001)” – a timeless favorite for all ages June 12 at Ricky Park, 5875 Ricky Ridge Trail, Orefield. Activities start around 5:30 p.m. and movies start as soon as the sun goes down.
The township will offer a free basketball clinic for ages 8-14, 4-6 p.m. May 30 at Grange Park outdoor basketball courts. This program is designed to help young athletes build essential skills while fostering personal growth and positive values.
Led by experienced coaches in a supportive, encouraging environment, participants will focus on fundamental basketball techniques including dribbling, shooting, passing, defense and teamwork, tailored to all skill levels.
Tennis Lessons Summer Session I for kids will take place Mondays June 1-29 at Brookside Country Club. Participants must bring their own racquet. No experience necessary.
Class times by age groups: 4:30-5:30 p.m. 7 to 10 year olds and 5:30-6:30 p.m. 11-15 year olds.
Mighty Kicks Youth Soccer Summer Session will take place Wednesday’s June 7 through July 8 at Lone Lane Park, 30 Lone Lane.
Mighty Kicks is the Premier introductory soccer option for children aged 2-8 years old.
This program is designed to build motor skills, life skills, self-confidence and basic soccer techniques.
All classes will be held on one of the smaller fields past the pavilion.
Class times by age groups include: 5-5:30 p.m. 2 year olds, 5:40-6:20 p.m. 3 to 4 year olds and 6:30-7:10 p.m. 5 to 8 year olds.
Donna Barats will offer a six-week outdoor Zumba Summer Session 6-7 p.m. Mondays, June 15 to July 6 at Lone Lane Pavilion parking lot.
This program will improve your cardio, muscle conditioning, balance and flexibility, all while making friends and having a blast.
Summer camp registration is open for Upper Macungie residents.
The Upper Macungie Township Summer Camp is an 8-week program running 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday June 15 through Aug. 7. The traditional camp is for kids ages 6-12. The Teen Takeover camp is for youth ages 13-15.
There will be no camp June 19 and July 3.
Throughout the day, campers will rotate through a schedule of activities ranging from sports, team-building, crafts, scavenger hunts, trivia, science and more.
Campers are responsible for packing their own lunch/snacks.
The Upper Macungie Township Summer Camp is offered at three different locations. Select the site location that works best for you and your family.
Bused field trip registration will be an optional add-on offered exclusively to those already registered in the Upper Macungie Township Summer Camp. Limited seats are available. There is a cost for the camps.

Morgenland Church, 3120 Weidasville Road, Orefield, (Leather Corner Post) is accepting orders until May 31 for its hoagie sale.

Ziegels Church, 9990 Ziegels Church Road, Breinigsville, will hold family game nights 6-8:30 p.m. June 3 and 17 in the Fellowship Hall. Bring along your favorite board game or card game to play and join them for some fun with friends and family. Light refreshments will be served.
Ziegels’ Rain Forest Falls Vacation Bible School for youth in kindergarten to sixth grade will take place 6-8:30 p.m. June 22-26.
Through fun music, crafts, games, stories and snacks, they will explore what it means to be rooted in a relationship with God, our creator and how He is our safe place during life’s storms.
Parents can register their children by filling out a form at Ziegels church during office hours, 10 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday.

Zion’s Union Church Maxatawny, 329 Church Road, Kutztown, will hold its annual Strawberry and Ice Cream Festival 6-9 p.m. June 5. This is a rain or shine event.
Music will be by Keith Britzenhoff.

The Parkland Garden Club will meet 7 p.m. June 8, at St. John’s UCC, 1027 Church St., Fogelsville. The program “6 P’s for Perfect Roses” will be presented by Lisa Walton.
