The Emmaus baseball team finished the 2026 season Monday with a 16-7 loss to Parkland.
The Hornets lost eight of their final nine games this season to finish 7-11 overall and 7-8 in East Penn Conference games.
Against Parkland, the Trojans opened a 6-1 lead through the top of the fourth inning before Emmaus erupted for six runs in the fourth to tie the game 7-7. The Trojans answered with a five-run fifth inning and sealed the win with another five-run inning in the seventh.
Josh Diaz went 2-for-4 for the Hornets and knocked in a pair of runs. Cole Moreau was 2-for-3 in the loss.
Parkland had 14 hits in the game and overcame three errors.
Emmaus lost to Whitehall last Thursday, 2-0.
The Zephyrs, which had five hits in the game, scored one run in the third inning and another in the fifth. The Hornets had just one hit in the loss. It came off the bat of Diaz, a junior who led the team with a .392 batting average in 2026.
Moreau took the loss after pitching 4.2 innings and allowing three hits and two runs while striking out nine Whitehall batters and walking three. Ryan Hummel allowed two hits and no runs over the final 1.1 innings.
Emmaus snapped a six-game losing skid with a 15-0 win over Whitehall on Tuesday, April 28. A 14-run third inning ended the game by the mercy rule.
Zach Ehritz went 3-for-4 with four RBI and two runs scored in the win, while Diaz went 2-for-2 on a day when his team pounded 11 hits.
Robert Barnes pitched all three innings and allowed two hits and no runs while striking out five Huskies and walking none.
