Girls T&F earns CL West title
Northwestern Lehigh swept Lehighton in a Colonial League meet last Tuesday, April 28, winning 89-61 on the boys side and 95-54 in the girls competition, as the Tiger girls clinched the Colonial League West Division dual meet title.
For the boys, Northwestern swept all three relays and was led in the field by Landon Gaulweiler (long jump), Logan Mesics (triple jump), Michael Lagowy (high jump) and Ethan Kaschak (pole vault), while Brady Furman won the 800.
On the girls side, Northwestern was led by double winners Rosalia Nestor (800, 1600), Taylor Langley (100, 300 hurdles) and Mallory Conner (shot put, discus). The Tigers also dominated the jumps.
The Northwestern girls team finishes the season 8-0 to earn the West Division title, while Southern Lehigh went 7-0 in the East Division to take that trophy.
The Tigers were second in the boys final standings for the CL West Division at 6-1 with Jim Thorpe earning the top spot. In the East Division, Southern Lehigh went 7-0 to earn the boys regular season dual meet division title.
The Colonial League Championships were held Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. See next week’s Press for coverage of that meet.
