EHS T&F teams top Allen

The Emmaus boys and girls track and field teams picked up wins over Allen last week.

The Hornet boys won 14 of the 18 events en route to a 110-40 victory last Wednesday, while the girls team won all but one event in their 131-19 dominant win. Emmaus placed first, second and third in all but one of the eight individual running events.

The Hornets’ depth was on full display, as a different runner won every single event.

Aiden Bayard highlighted that group, placing first in the 100-meter dash and second in the 200-meter dash, respectively. Emmaus won two of the three relay events as well.

Nehemiah Pierre led the jumping events by winning the triple jump event and placing third in the long jump. Robert Edwards (shot put) and Chace Corcoran (discus) won both of their events to lead the throwers.

The girls side was even more dominant against Allen. McKayle Clifford headlined that group with wins in both the 100- and 200-meter dashes, respectively. All three relay teams won as well.

Claudia Walls was a winner in the long jump and triple jump events for Emmaus, while Kayleen Louis (shot put) and Margaret Anthony (discus) placed first in their throwing events.

During Friday’s Ray Geesey Invitational at Dallastown High School, numerous Hornets won events. Madelyn McCartney led the girls side with a win in the 1600-meter run in 4:56.51.

The boys side dominated the running events once again. Nicholi Marsh (100-meter dash; 10.86 seconds), Rien George (400-meter dash, 50.07) and Roen Woolf (3200-meter run, 9:40.88) all crossed the finish line first. Edwards won the shot put with a throw of 54-11 3/4.
