Dale Franklin Wetherhold, 93, of Breinigsville, died peacefully May 20, 2026, in Lehigh Valley Inpatient Hospice. He was the husband of Linda (Terry) Wetherhold for 18 years. Born in Cetronia, he was the son of the late Earl and Elsie (Klipple) Wetherhold.
He was a welder and worked as a foreman for Morysville Body works until 1982. He then established Wetherhold Welding, Fabrications and Repair and worked until retiring in 2020.
He was a former member of Cedar Crest Bible Fellowship Church.
He volunteered for the Emmaus Fire Department.
He had a passion for gardening, animals and baking pies.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Scott Allen; daughter, Kathy Ann Smith; stepdaughters, Kimberly Fassetta, Caryn Anderson, Christy Pallas; seven grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Wallace.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Marlene (Evans); son, Michael; granddaughter, Tiffany; brothers, Douglas, Carlton, Laird, Harry, Bruce; sisters, Sara Ellen, Doris Glina.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. May 27 in Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main St., Emmaus. Visitation 10-11 a.m. in the funeral home.
The family requests a tree be planted in his memory or contribute to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
