The District 11 baseball tournament gets underway this week with Liberty and Freedom looking to make a postseason run in the 6A tournament.

The Hurricanes are the second seed in this year’s bracket and played seventh seeded Stroudsburg in Wednesday’s quarterfinal round.

Freedom earned the sixth seed and travel to third seeded Nazareth in Wednesday’s quarters, possibly setting up another Bethlehem rivalry showdown in the semifinals if both teams can win.

On the top side of the bracket, Allen storms into the tournament as EPC champions and await the winner of the eight-nine matchup between East Stroudsburg South and Easton in the quarters.

Parkland and Northampton square off in a four-five showdown on Wednesday as well.

Semifinals are scheduled for this Sunday and the finals are set for May 27.

In 5A, Blue Mountain comes is as the top seed and hosts either Pocono Mountain East or Pottsville in Saturday’s semifinal round.

Third seeded Whitehall takes on sixth seeded Bangor in Tuesday’s quarterfinals, as the winner plays second seeded Southern Lehigh in the semis.

The championship game is set for May 26.

Class 4A and 3A also only have six teams in the tournament, as Saucon Valley is the top seed in 4A and will Jim Thorpe or Lehighton in Sunday’s semifinals.

North Schuylkill grabbed the second seed and will play the winner of the Northwestern-Wilson game in Wednesday’s quarters.

Finals are slated for May 27.

The 3A class is led by Central Catholic at the top, as they wait to play until Saturday’s semifinals against Salisbury or Northern Lehigh.

Notre Dame is the second seed and takes on the winner of the Palmerton-Pine Grove matchup.

Finals for 3A are on May 26.

Class 2A features Tri-Valley at the top and they’ll play either Executive Education or Schuylkill Haven in Sunday’s semifinals.

The bottom half of the bracket has second seeded Marian Catholic playing seventh seeded Minersville in Wednesday’s quarters. Third seeded Williams Valley hosts sixth seeded Shenandoah Valley in the other matchup.

Finals are on May 27.4

Class 1A has four teams with top seeded Bethlehem Christian playing fourth seeded Moravian Academy in Tuesday’s semifinals.

Nativity BVM and Lincoln Leadership are the two-three seeding. Finals are scheduled for Saturday.
