Donald C. “Butch” Moyer, 89, of Hamburg, died May 1, 2026, at Reading Hospital in West Reading. He was the husband of the late Joyce C. Moyer. Born in Hamburg, he was the son of the late Charles and Mary (Hepner) Moyer.

He was a 1954 graduate of Hamburg High School. He went on to serve in the Pennsylvania Air National Guard. He was the longtime owner of the former Moyer’s Hardware Store in Hamburg and was a former co-owner of the K & M Burger Ranch in Shartlesville. He also worked as a realtor and appraiser.

He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hamburg, Vaux Lodge No. 406 F&AM in Shoemakersville and Rajah Shrine and its mounted patrol in Reading. He was a founding member of the Shartlesville Rod and Gun Club.

He is survived by sons, Gregg A. (Anne Marie), of Haymarket, Va., Kurt C. (Heather), of Las Vegas, Nev.; grandchildren, Tiffany Moceri, Tyler Skelton, Nathan, Alex, Kaleb, Savannah Walker; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Jean Horning, of Lititz.

His memorial service will be held 11 a.m. May 30, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 99 Church St., Hamburg. Calling hour begins 10 a.m. Pastor Mark Jensen will officiate.
