1963 PHS graduate
Paul Sterling Mengel, 80, of Live Oak, Texas, died April 5, 2026. He was born to Sterling and Evelyn Mengel, in Allentown.
He was a 1963 graduate from Parkland High School in Allentown. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1963-1967.
He worked 37 years for the United States Postal Service and was an Elder and Pastoral Assistant at Abundant Life Church.
He was a sports enthusiast. He was involved in the PTA at Crestview Elementary, and he loved his ministry to the shut-ins through church as well as his service with Meals on Wheels.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Linda; sister, Carol Moyer, of Allentown; daughters, Pam Wiley (Victor), Patricia Wilgen (Matthew), Judy Colemere (Ken); grandchildren, James Wiley (Erika), Jacob Wiley, Paul Wilgen, Justin Wiley (Arianna), Rebecca Wilgen, Konner Colemere, Kaden Colemere, Rachel O’Neill (Levi), Sarah Wilgen; great-grandchildren, Vivian, Victoria and Vincent Wiley and Alexandra Wiley; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to give special thanks to Embrace Hospice for their loving care, especially nurse Billy.
Local arrangements were made by Schmoyer Funeral Home, Breinigsville.
