Borough residents should be aware of a change to the cellphone use while driving law. Ticketing and fines are to take affect beginning in June.

Pennsylvania law prohibits use of handheld electronic devices while behind the wheel on the roadway. This includes when drivers are temporarily stopped because of traffic, red lights, construction or other delays.

This is a primary offense, meaning you can be pulled over for using a handheld device. Hands-free devices, such as Bluetooth, are permitted.
