John H. Benedek, 74, of Allentown, formerly of Washington, N.J., died April 25, 2026, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Bethlehem campus. He was the husband of Naomi R. (Krause) Benedek for 30 years.

Born in Salem, N.J., he was the son of the late Dominik and Ida (Mikschl) Benedek.

He was employed at Lebanon Door in Lebanon, N.J., for 37 years before retiring in 2021.

He was a member of the Lutheran congregation of Ziegels Union Church, Breinigsville.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Rachel M. of Belvidere, N.J., and Lindsay M. Gyorfi with Chad of Belvidere, N.J.; two stepchildren, Scott T. Hartman with Heidi of Allentown and Kathy L. Mycio with Daniel of Walnutport; six siblings, Juliana Bernaski with John of Oxford, N.J., Thomas with Lynn of Weissport, Rosemarie Milkowski with Gary of Glen Gardner, N.J., Denes with Robin of South Carolina, Kathraina Brooks of Hume, Mo., and Melinda Robertson of Washington, N.J.; seven grandchildren, Bradley Gyorfi, Riley Gyorfi, Daniel Mycio Jr., Corey Woomer, Kyle Woomer, Shaelynn Hartman and Kylie Hartman; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
