South Whitehall Twp police officers issued new uniforms

The South Whitehall Township Police Department recently issued new uniforms to its officers.

The former uniforms were standard issue of at least four decades, Community Relations Officer Sgt. Jason Grozier said.

The Patch Redesign:

• Shield: Protection and care.

• Keystone and Flag: State identity and citizen rights.

• Eagle and Horses: Vigilance and teamwork.

• Est. 1969: Dedicated history.

The New Uniform:

The updated standard uniform now includes an outer carrier, a modern design built for enhanced functionality and officer wellness. The patches will be displayed on each shoulder.

Additionally, the new carriers move the weight of the ballistic vests off the belt, greatly relieving back pain caused by the weight of the vests.
