Freedom is the only boys’ lacrosse program in the postseason hunt and their fate will be determined this week.
The Pates (6-8) are fighting for their lives with three games left on the year with the difficult task of needing two wins to clinch a District 11 berth.
Head coach RJ Guffy knows it’s a big week, but understands his team needs to focus on what’s in front of them each day.
“This week is huge for us,” said Guffy. “We have three games and we need to take it one game at a time. Stay healthy and just win.”
The Pates have a rescheduled game against Central Catholic (9-4), Nazareth (10-5) and Liberty (2-13) to close out the regular season and need a lot to go their way in order to keep playing past this week.
“We need to win out or get at least two out of three wins to qualify with the .500 record,” said Guffy.
