As the warm weather approaches both the school and local community begin to thrum with activity. Here’s a rundown of all you need to know so you don’t miss out on the fun.

Pennsylvania System of School Assessments Science testing will take place April 30 and May 1 for Salisbury Middle School students and May 1 will be a T-shirt day for Salisbury Elementary School students.

Mark your calendars for the upcoming STSD community night 5-8 p.m. May 5 at Salisbury High School, 500 E. Montgomery St. The evening will feature a district-wide art show, a budget overview 5:30-6 p.m. and dinner 4:45-6:45 p.m. for the first 500 residents to register. Registration is required at www.salisburysd.org/communitydinner or call 610-797-2062, ext. 1000.

May 5 is also field day for SES students. The event, which runs 9:30-10:50 a.m. for grades 3-4 and 12:05-1:25 p.m. for grades K-2, will be held at SHS. In case of inclement weather the event will be held May 7.

SHS will hold a spring concert 7-9 p.m. May 6 and May 8 will be an early dismissal day for all schools.

The next Home Depot kids workshop will take place May 2 starting 9 a.m. Little builders will have an opportunity to craft a keepsake box of their own. Registration is required at www.homedepot.com/c/kids-workshop.

The Seed Farm, 5854 Vera Cruz Road, Emmaus, will hold its 12th annual spring plant sale 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 9 and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 10. The sale features 200+ varieties of vegetable, herb, flower and native plant transplants.

The Seed Farm is a program of the Second Harvest Food Bank and Community Action Lehigh Valley and works to support food production for the home gardener, community gardens and local farms. The program supports and educates farmers and produces thousands of pounds of fresh vegetables for the emergency food system.

The Salisbury Township Recreation Committee reminds residents there will be a free AM Radio Tribute Band concert 1-4 p.m. May 30 at Franko Park. Dig out your tie-dye shirts, bring a chair or blanket and enjoy music from the 1960s and 1970s. Food trucks will be on site during the concert.

The township yard waste drop off sites are now open. The Devonshire site will be open April 30 and May 2 and the Franko site will be open May 4, 7 and 9. Hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays.
