Joyce E. Herndon, 82, of Freehold, N.J., died April 18, 2026, at Applewood Village. She was the wife of the late William C. Herndon for 55 years.

Formally of Whitehall and raised in Dumont, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Mary (Meszaros) Young.

She was a graduate of Dumont High School.

She retired after 17 years at Air Products in Allentown.

She was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church and served on its bereavement team.

She is survived by three children, William with Cindy, Barb and Mary with Josh; a sister, Barbara Feneis; a brother-in-law, Thomas R.; five grandchildren, Alyssa, William, Victoria, Stephen and Morgan and Sarah; and three great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a sister, Virginia Young.
