Fullerton: Men’s group to meet May 2

The men’s breakfast group of St. John’s United Church of Christ will hold its next gathering 8:30 a.m. May 2 at Hamilton Family Restaurant, 2027 Hamilton St., Allentown.

St. John’s UCC, 575 Grape St., will be holding its basket social and bake sale 9 a.m.-2 p.m. May 2 and before and after worship May 3.

There will be a drawing 11:30 a.m. May 3 in Fox Hall.

There will be approximately 100 baskets. You could win gift cards to restaurants and department and hardware stores. Some baskets have themes like Eagles, Steelers and Penn State merchandise, baby and children’s activities, wines, gardening, items made by St. John’s crafters, Vera Bradley purses, snacks and candies. If you are a collector of snowmen, gnomes or angels, you’ll find it here.

There will be a variety of baked goods to choose from, such as cutout cookies, funny cakes, wet bottom shoofly pies and confetti and angel food cakes.

St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 835 Third St., will be holding its next Saturday worship 5 p.m. May 2. Saturday worship will continue the first and third Saturdays of the month through October.

St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church, 618 Fullerton Ave., will have flowers available for sale after Masses on Mother’s Day weekend May 9 and 10 to benefit Pennsylvania for Human Life. Consider supporting the cause by purchasing roses or carnations.
