Jorge Velazquez Cruz, 86, of Bethlehem, died April 15, 2026. Born in Humacao, Puerto Rico, he was the beloved son of the late Jose Velazquez Mulero and the late Francisca Cruz Ortiz. He was the husband of Enid Cruz (Pena).
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He was a crane operator at Bethlehem Steel Corp. He was known for his strong work ethic, his love of staying active, and his commitment to physical fitness throughout his life.
He enjoyed spending mornings sharing breakfast and conversation with his friends at Burger King, and he loved to sing.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by; children, Jorge Velazquez, Beatriz Tirado, Evelyn Agosto, and Mario Velazquez; grandchildren, including Lisandra Matos, Jorge Velazquez III, Lionel Velazquez, Marcelo Velazquez, Analicia Velazquez, Giovanni Velazquez, Luciano Tirado, Limrya Delgado, Aurelio Agosto, Gianna Agosto, Charity Crenshaw, Mario Velazquez; as well as many loving great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; his brothers Ernesto Velazquez and Mario Velazquez; his sisters Lucia Velazquez and Concepcion Velazquez; his son Edwin Rivera, and his grandson Ian Velazquez.
