Parkland boys lacrosse wins EPC opener
The Parkland High School boys lacrosse team won its opening Eastern Pennsylvania Conference game last week, but dropped two other games out of conference to highlight week two of the 2026 regular season.
The Trojans were defeated by Moravian Academy 8-7 in overtime last Tuesday, March 24, but bounced back two nights later to take down Bethlehem Catholic 21-5 in the EPC opener. The week concluded with an 11-5 loss to Scranton Prep on Saturday.
In the game with the Lions, Parkland trailed 2-1 after the opening quarter, but tied the score at 3-3 at halftime.
The Trojans then had a strong third quarter, scoring three of the four goals between the teams to lead 6-4. But Moravian Academy outscored them 3-1 in the fourth to force overtime and then netted the game-winner early on in the extra period.
Danny Tapia and John Gerancher finished with two goals to lead the attack, and Matthew Scott, Bailey Wetmore and Nate Lowrey all found the back of the net once to round out the scoring. Colton Arezzi contributed three assists and Tapia added one. Owen Fehnel finished with 11 saves in net.
In the victory over the Golden Hawks, Gerancher finished with a game-high five goals, Arezzi tallied four goals, Tapia had a hat trick and each of Breckin Serratore, Lowrey and Jake Posocco all scored twice. Scott, Brycen Smith and Wetmore all netted one goal.
Arezzi dished out a team-high seven assists, Tapia and Serratore had two and each of
Gerancher, Scott, Smith, Isaiah Fisher, Ty Norman and Lucian Ryan added one. Fehnel made three saves and both TJ Smith and Asher Shevlin had one save.
Stats from the game with Scranton Prep were not available at the time of print.
Parkland finished last week at 3-3 overall and 1-0 in the conference.
