Hornets compete in EPC Tennis Tournament

The Emmaus boys tennis team competed in last week’s East Penn Conference Championships.

The Hornets’ Cole Stuchko finished third overall in the No. 3 singles bracket by beating Stroudsburg’s Keshav Persaud in the third-place match.

The Emmaus doubles team of Ben Brooks and Adam Waddell took third place in the No. 2 doubles bracket. Brooks and Waddell were seeded sixth in their bracket and took out the No. 3 seed in the third-place match after knocking off the No. 4 seed in the first round.

The Hornets’ Chris Stone reached the third place match at No. 1 singles and lost to Easton’s Aarush Makwana in that match to finish fourth at the event.

The Emmaus doubles pair of Krishna Nemani and Aba Diop finished also finished fourth in the event.

Parkland players or doubles teams won five of the six brackets at the league tournament and the Trojans won the team title with 29 points after going unbeaten in dual meets in 2026. Liberty was second with 20 points.

Stone and Brown qualified for this week’s District 11 singles tournament. Stone is the No. 2 seed with a first-round match against Stroudsburg’s Mason Ulmer. Stuchko is unseeded and had a first-round matchup against Makwana, the No. 5 seed.

The district singles championships began Monday with semifinals and finals slated for Wednesday at Freedom High School.
