Basket ‘n’ crafts fundraisers

The auxiliary of Northern Valley EMS, NOVA, 2375 Levans Road, Coplay, will present a basket social 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 25.

Attendees are invited to come for lunch.

Linda Dean has assumed the role of president of the NOVA Auxiliary.

The Schnecksville Fair Spring Craft Show will take place 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 25 in the fire company main hall, 4550 Old Packhouse Road, Schnecksville.

The event features vendors, crafters and a Chinese auction.

The kitchen will be open.

Proceeds benefit the Schnecksville Community Fair.

Volunteers at the Schnecksville Fire Community will cook up an all-you-can-eat buffet style breakfast 8 a.m. to noon April 26.

Menu includes ham, sausage, bacon, creamed chipped beef, home fries, pancakes, toast, beverages, eggs any way you like them and omelets.

Mimosas will be available at an additional cost.

This is the last breakfast for the season.

They will resume in the fall.

The youth group of Union Lutheran Church will have a yard sale fundraiser 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 2.

Food will be available for purchase.

Director Rebekah Millroy reports Neffs UCC Preschool kicked off its guest reader program with a very special visitor.

A former student who is now a successful first grader returned to read a funny story that had the class laughing from start to finish.

“It was wonderful to see a former Neffs student come back and share his love of reading,” Millroy said.

She noted the group takes walks to the grove to watch for spring changes and growth, such as the daffodil stems emerging from the ground and blooming into yellow flowers.
