LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

FHS boys lacrosse running out of time

It’ll be a big week for Freedom on the lacrosse field, as the boys’ team needs to fight for wins in order to keep their playoff hopes alive.

The Pates (5-7) split their four contests last week and weren’t able to make up any ground on getting back to .500, but that can change this week.

The Pates three game slate includes matchups with Northwestern (6-4), Pleasant Valley (3-8) and Central Catholic (7-4), as they stare down the barrel of the regular season coming to an end next week.

With five games left on the schedule, Freedom needs every win they can grab in order to secure a postseason berth.

Currently, Easton (11-1), Parkland (9-4), Nazareth (9-3) and Delaware Valley (8-4) have all clinched District 11 3A berths.

Emmaus (7-6) sits in front of Freedom in the fifth spot, and Northampton (6-7) sits right behind the Pates in seventh, making the next week of action even more dramatic.

Liberty (1-11) and Bethlehem Catholic (0-9) are both out of the postseason.

The Hurricanes have three games this week against Saucon Valley, Parkland and Quakertown with a chance at grabbing a second win on the season.

Becahi faces Nazareth and Pleasant Valley, as they search for their first win.
