Joseph J. Haklar, 65, of Salisbury Township, died Feb. 25, 2026, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Fountain Hill. He was the husband of the late Veronica (Schlier) Haklar, who died in 2021.

Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late James Sr. and Ethel Claire (Zack) Haklar.

Most recently, he worked in apartment maintenance.

He was a member of St. Mark’s UCC, Allentown, as well as a life member of the Salisbury Fire Co. #1 and the VFW Post #2124.

He is survived by his son, Joseph J. Jacobs, of Allentown; grandson, Joseph C. Jacobs; companion, Deb Gallagher, of Allentown; siblings, Jim, Rose, Barbara, Mary, Helen, Liz, Steve and Ellie, all of Allentown, Cathy, of Northampton, John, of Catasauqua, Lori, of Nazareth; many nieces and nephews; beloved dog, Sissy; cats, Tigger and Bella.

Arrangements were entrusted to the K.V. Knopp Funeral Home, 46 E. Susquehanna St., Allentown.
