Hokendauqua: Civil War event to be held April 25, 26 at Whitehall Parkway

There will be a Civil War reenactment and encampment 9 a.m.-7 p.m. April 25 and again 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. April 26 at Whitehall Parkway, 4689 S. Church St.

The event will be held rain or shine.

Hokey Athletic Association will be holding a designer purse bingo April 26 at American Club of Coplay, 300 Cherry St. Doors open noon, and the games start 1 p.m.

There will be games, special bingos, raffle auctions and special raffles. The kitchen will also be open.

Whitehall Township is holding its annual electronics recycling and document shredding event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 9 at the municipal building, 3219 MacArthur Road. There are many items that can be recycled for free, but some have a cost attached. The document shredding is free.

Only cash and checks are accepted.

The annual township fishing derby will be held May 30 in the Coplay Creek at Hokendauqua Park and Playground, 3417 Lehigh St. Registration starts 8 a.m., and the contest will be held 9-11 a.m.

There will be first-, second- and third-place prizes for ages 6 and under, 7-9, 10-12 and 13-15.

The township has announced the 2026 summer concert series lineup. Sponsored by the recreation department, concerts will be held 6-9 p.m., with food and drinks to enjoy, at Whitehall Parkway. The concert schedule is subject to change.

Concerts include The Castaways June 13, GirlCrue June 20, The Aardvarks July 11, Main Street Cruisers July 18, Steel Creek Aug. 8 and Toolshed Jack Aug. 15.

Whitehall will be holding National Night Out 6-8 p.m. Aug. 4 at Schadt Avenue Park and Playground, 1975 Schadt Ave.

“This event is designed to bring our community together while building positive relationships with local organizations, businesses and first responders,” according to a Facebook post.
